HalCash (Helena Activos Líquidos, SL) is a Spanish company, incorporated in 2004 by a group of Spanish banks to work together to launch a technology project among financial entities. The goal was, and still is, to build a global, innovative and efficient payment system, both domestically and internationally.

The result of this effort is the HalCash system, a pioneering and unique technology platform which supports an electronic payment system through which domestic and international funds can be sent using the extensive network of affiliated entities in various countries connected to the system.

Seeking to advance the goal of expanding the system globally, in March 2017 the banks added a new investor, Ashby Point Capital, a U.S. firm exclusively focused on investing in the growth of financial services and payment companies. Ashby Point is managed by Bill Westervelt and Jim Leroux, who each have more than twenty-five years’ experience operating, investing in and advising payments companies. Ashby Point will lead the expansion of HalCash into new countries, creating a global network for HalCash transfers.

There are currently 16 financial entities integrated with the HalCash system in Spain and Poland.  The United States will soon be live under the brand name (Pin4), which will add significant new ATMs and POS terminals to our network.

As the creator of its own unique methodology, technology platform and model, HalCash has applied for patents in more than forty countries, fourteen of which have been granted: USA, Canada, Costa Rica, Morocco, Mexico, Moldova, Russia, Georgia, Belarus, South Africa, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Australia, New Zealand and Ukraine. In the remaining countries, including the countries within the scope of the EPO, the applications are in the formal phase of analysis at the national level.
